The Holy Scripture is the all-sufficient, certain and infallible rule or standard of the knowledge, faith and obedience for salvation.
In order to ensure the preservation and propagation of the truth, and the establishment and comfort of the church against the corrupt nature of man and the wickedness of Satan and the world, He caused this revelation of Himself and His will to be written down in all its fullness. And as the manner in which God formerly revealed His will has long ceased, the Holy Scripture becomes absolutely essential to men.
There is but one, and only one, living and true God. He is self-existent and infinite in His being and His perfections. His nature and His Word never change. He is most loving, gracious, merciful and compassionate. He abounds in goodness and truth. He forgives iniquity, transgression and sin. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. But He hates sin. He will not overlook guilt or spare the guilty, and He is perfectly just in executing judgment.
Three divine Persons constitute the Godhead—the Father, the Son (or the Word), and the Holy Spirit. They are one in substance, in power, and in eternity. Each is fully God, and yet the Godhead is one and indivisible.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity existing eternally, equal in essence with the Father and having neither beginning nor ending. In the incarnation, Jesus the Christ became the God/Man, possessing in one person complete and perfect human and divine nature. The incarnation was accomplished through His supernatural conception by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary.
Following Jesus’ earthly ministry, He voluntarily died as a substitutionary sacrifice for all men, providing atonement for the sins of the world. His death and resurrection was the satisfaction which fulfilled the demands of God’s holiness, so that all men may be saved from the penalty of sin.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and equal in essence with the Father and the Son. The ministry of the Holy Spirit in the world is to convict lost men of sin, righteousness and judgment.
We believe the Holy Spirit performs a vital ministry to the believer at the time of conversion which includes regeneration, baptism into Christ’s body, permanent indwelling and sealing.
We believe that God has not abandoned mankind in sin but in love has provided a way of salvation through Jesus’ shed blood on the cross. As the substitute for mankind, salvation is a free gift available to sinners by the grace of God.
Salvation is appropriated only after hearing the Gospel, repenting from sin and believing in the Gospel. There are no good deeds that one can do in order to obtain salvation and a good standing before God. We believe that those who personally repent of their sins and receive Christ as Lord and Savior are eternally saved.
