Introduction - Old Testament Bible Difficulties
Speaker: Roy Beacham Series: Old Testament Bible Difficulties Topic: Equipping Hour
The purpose of this series is to examine, honestly and accurately, various interpretational and theological difficulties that arise in the study of the Old Testament (OT) Scriptures. Attention will be given to theological ambiguities, seeming inconsistencies, questionable ethics, and objectionable moral practices, all of which might seem to be foreign to a document authorized by God. Topics could include issues such as: lying and deceit, holy war and the extermination of people-groups, polygamy and marital laxity, OT sacrifice and the works of the Law, the seeming impermanence of the Holy Spirit in the OT, odd purification rituals, God as hateful and angry, and the like. The goal is to understand more fully the OT Scriptures as well as the person and work of God.
